Style Guide to... Dad Shirts.

Who needs shopping when you have your DAD'S CLOSET

An article of clothing I have a constant tendency to reach for is something that isn't even in my closet. Idk if the last sentence made sense.. BUT ANYWAYS I am OBSESSED with dad shirts. I love the way you can tuck, fold, tie, style them to your preference. And obviously depending on the dad and his style, the more fun ways to wear his shirts :p

So dad shirts being cReAtIvE to style is probably the first reason why they are so much fun to wear. Other reasons why would be (1) the look on my dad’s face when I wear his shirts (2) wearing baggier dad clothing means I can ACTUALLY eat more without being worried about bloating… and of course (3) being comfortable.

Not to mention dad clothes are in right now. The baggier the shirts or blazers, or JEANS the better and the chunkier the sneaker the more people want them.

Although, this post is focused specifically on dad tops but I’ll definitely be doing another post with bottoms like dad jeans and pants and all things DAD clothes SOON.

Here are some of my favorite dad tops and 7 different ways I style them :)

Dress shirts: I love love love my dad’s old dress shirts. These come in handy when I want to go out, or just wear them in casual day to day looks. Best part is you can literally pair these with anything.

***Dress shirt with Leggings***
***Dress Shirt with Pants***
***Dress Shirt with Dress***
***Dress Shirt with Denim Skirt***
***Sweatshirt with leggings***

Sweatshirts: This is the outfit I would literally wear to EVERY.SINGLE.THING last semester. Class. Getting food. Party. You name some type of college-y place and more times than not I’d be wearing this. Jokes aside, dad sweatshirts are perfect because you can be comfortable and you can easily switch out the leggings to jeans and you’re set to wear them out.

Plaid Button down: The plaid tops are super cute to pair with a plain solid color underneath or button it up with leggings. Two major ways I love wearing these button down tops are to tie the shirts up to accentuate your waist or leave it as is.

***Plaid Tied Up with Jeans***
***Plaid Tucked in with Leggings***

Frankly this fashion staple can help you take on anything your day-to-day life throws at you all while looking good, affordable (or free–just look in your dad’s closet), and DEFINITELY low maintenance
